Vulnerability
Whether we’re ashamed of something we’ve done or been burned or betrayed, it’s easy to believe the lie that everyone else has it all together. The fear of what others think about us traps us into believing it is better to pretend “all is good”
I believed all those lies for almost 30 years of my life. I had so many secrets from drugs to promiscuity to wrong thinking. It wasn’t until I started confessing truth out of my mouth that I finally found freedom
As I was reading the book of Tutus today I was reminded of one of my favorite passages in the Bible:
“But….God…He saved us..not because of works…but by His grace.” (3:4-5)
When I think about the impact grace has had on my life I have to sit down. When we share our struggles, past and present, our eyes, hearts, and minds are focused on what God has done rather than the things we’ve done that make us want to hide from others.
Vulnerability is not about being open with everybody, but it is about being open with somebody/somebodies. I can assure you we are all a little messed up!!
It’s ok, to not be ok. We don’t have to stay there. God has so much more for us. Spirit-empowered, grace-driven vulnerability can lead to freedom and healing.
